| About 1850, Mr. Goulard, the
grandfather of my grandmother, was a weaver. He lived and worked among the vineyards of
Cognac. He built a distillery and with a good advice of his cousin, a worker in the
Hennessy distillery, he produced the famous alcohol with a prestigious name: Cognac. Time went by, with its good and bad years (wars, vineyard troubles - phylloxera and mildew). In 1921, the vineyard took the name of PETIT at my grandmother's marriage to Albert Petit. In 1965, my father André Petit decided to stop his contract with the house of Hennessy to sell his own bottled product.

Vers 1850, le triaieul Goulard
alors tisserand, décida de placer une partie de son capital dans des vignobles. Il fit
monter une distillerie et sur les conseils de son cousins, distillateur à la maison
Hennessy produisit cet alcool au nom prestigieux: Le Cognac. Le temps s'écoula avec ses bonnes et ses mauvaises années (les guerres, les maladies telles le mildiou et le phylloxera) et c'est en 1921 au mariage de ma Grand-Mère avec mon Grand-Père Albert Petit que le vignoble prit le nom de : PETIT. En 1965 mon Père André Petit décida de rompre ses contrats avec la Maison Hennessy pour commercialiser lui-même sa production en bouteille. |
